Study environment at DTU is about ensuring the well-being of students while they are at the premises of the University; it is about the diversity of social and academic activities conducted at DTU, and about the physical settings that the University provides for the students, both indoors and outdoors.

At DTU, we appreciate that our students participate in activities that go beyond the planned contents of their study programmes, and we therefore support a visible, versatile, and culturally rich campus life as a part of the study environment. The purpose was to take a snapshot of the study environment in general and to give the students an opportunity for direct influence on their study environment.

Based on the results from the DTU Study Environment Surveya future-oriented action plan has been adopted for the study environment, which contains a list of specific initiatives, which will be launched in the period. Renovation of auditoriums, improved communication about courses and examinations, and more in-depth study places for students are among the many new initiatives aimed at creating an even better study environment for DTU students.

Read more about the Fund and how to apply at pf. The Committee has been set up with the aim of promoting a good study environment at DTU. The Committee discusses methods and launches systematic surveys of the study environment.

The survey results are then used as a platform for a draft action plan for improvements. The Study Environment Committee is involved in relevant study environment aspects of DTU's overall campus planning and also discusses norms and standards relevant to the study environment.

This course gives you an opportunity to learn about global trends that influence our environment and the living conditions and how different management systems and approaches that are used around the world to manage the environment. This includes current environmental technologies built for the environment and technologies for sustainable soil management, groundwater protection methods and integrated Water resources management. DTU focuses on research in technical and natural sciences that contributes to the development of society.

As an industrially orientated university, our goal is to supply high-level international research based on combining theory with constructing models and empirical methods. In the first week we will set the stage for the next weeks. This week presents some of the global trends that influence our environment and the living conditions.

We will in particular look at Sustainable development, demography, various aspects of urbanization, climate change and environmental Health. This week we look into different management systems and approaches that are used around the world. Management styles and systems are implemented depending on various factors like culture, history and physical layout of the country.

We will see it from general introductions and look at three case presentations. This week we look in how the various utilities manage the environment.

Campus Environment

We will e. In week 4 we look at some of the current environmental technologies that are particularly effective in carrying out their purpose and in an environmental friendly way. We look at how we choose among different technologies and study storm water technologies, urban water supply and solid waste handling. In the last week we look at the environmental technologies that are not part of the regular urban water systems.

We will in particular focus on technologies for sustainable soil management, groundwater protection methods and integrated Water resources management.

Research: Research in nanomaterials at DTU Environment takes place in an interdisciplinary collaboration in order to exploit the beneficial properties of nanomaterials without sacrificing environmental safety. The department conducts cutting-edge research, in developing the vital areas that address societal needs for environmentally sustainable life style.

The education in the department prepares students for leadership in the profession of environmental engineering. The department has designed its course curriculum; so that students are acquainted with a wide range of problems encountered by environmental engineers through electives and independently conducted projects. Industrial tours are also conducted every year for the students by visiting industries and sites of environmental concern throughout India.

Educational activities of the department focus on developing future leaders in the engineering profession, in academia, and in the broader societal context.

We also strive to promote teamwork, and we value integrity and honesty in all efforts. Tech ENE.There is an increasing need for people that can understand and analyse an environmental dilemma from different ethical perspectives.

This may even be coupled with significant scientific uncertainty and a whole range of potential environmental ethical implications that have to be given consideration. DTU Environment therefore offers a new international online course in Environmental Management and Ethics targeting authorities, industries and people with general interest in the environment. The course will make the participants capable of analysing ethical challenges associated with environmental dilemmas and use different decision-support tools to manage and regulate the environment.
